Description
The Hiker GX is the sock J.B. Field's is best known for, and the reason is the wool content. At 74% Merino, it handles temperature and moisture the way a technical sock should, staying warm when the air is cold and breathing when the pace picks up, without the itch people associate with older wool socks.
Mid-weight cushioning sits under the foot where a boot presses hardest, with impact support zones at the heel and ball for the long descents. Arch and ankle support stop the sock migrating inside the boot, and a double cuff with a ribbed calf keeps the top from sliding down. It is an all-season crew, as happy on a winter dog walk as on a summer trail, and it is knit in Canada. Red and black, so you can find them in the drawer.
